 Fathers love
Back to Full Blog

Any of you out there ever wish you could hear your mother or father pray again? I remember my father saying grace at the dinner table one time, and my mother maybe 2 or 3 times. However I can remember seeing my father on his knees in prayer many many times. Both of my parents especially my father, read the bible. Mother liked attending church services, but my father was not really into it. Net result of that...they did not go that much. The impact on me....I do not attend church that much, I talk to my Father in Heaven multiple times each day, I love that quiet inner peace that a love for our Father in Heaven can bring. I also love my Father in Heaven, thru Him all things are possible. And one of the parts of his sharing with us that I really love, "I will never leave you nor will I forsake you." So I thank you Mom and Dad, for giving me that same quiet spirit in the Lord. And so Father in Heaven I pray that this love is passed on and on in my family, and in the many families of the world.

Hi Ochoco,

I hope this comment finds you well.

I actually never saw the people that called themselves my parents pray. In all the years I was with them......never, not once. Somehow though, I knew how.....inherent maybe.......and I prayed for help.......it came in the form of a magnificent woman that I call Mam..(my adoptive mother).....she never actually adopted me though she tried.....so I guess she is what you would have called a foster mom for a period of time. She prayed quite frequently and it was always with such love and dedication. She passed away a few weeks ago and I was fortunate enough to be with her at the time. She taught me that there is caring in this world and that God cares as well......and we are never alone.

Thank-you for this post. It is perfect for today!

Bless you! Celtic Mist
