My House
Sunday June 4, 2006
Well here we are at another day of rest. I was thinking about a trip to Salt Lake City that the wife and I made 2 years ago. I had always wanted to go and listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Incidentally I am not Mormon, and I have not one thing against the Mormons or any other religous group that I can think of. We got a hotel close to Tabernacle Square, with a window on the 7th floor that overlooked the Square. My wife tired from the trip to Salt Lake, she was into a nap. And I could not wait any longer to set foot on the famed grounds. So away I went. Once on the grounds near the Tabernacle there was music being played thru some strategicly place speakers. At the entrance end to the Tabernacle were some windows that you could look thru and see just about the entire inside of the building. A fella standing next to me knew much about Tabernacle Square, and said in just a short time the choir and the orchestra would begin a practice session and that those who wanted could go inside and listen. I ran and grabbed my wife and hurried back. Inside we went and down we sat. 350 choir members and at least a 100 piece orchestra started to make music. My, my what a beautiful sound. The next day was Easter Sunday, and we were able to attend their annual Easter radio broadcast. Such a thrill to be there and hear in person their music. They have the second largest pipe organ in the world inside their building. It has over 1,000 pipes, such a beautiful sound I could not describe and when 350 choir members start singing along with it, you can absolutely forget about the outside world. The acoustics inside the Tabernacle are unbelievable, you can actually hear a pin drop at 50yards away. Oh well enough flash backs. Any of you music lovers out there owe it to yourselves to go and listen to the music they make at the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City Utah. Don't bother to do any religion bashing with me, I am just not interested. We are all God's children and he loves and cares for each and every one. Have a wonderful Sunday. Dennis

Ever wondered if you have missed the mark by a mile? For me its more like 5 miles. All those wasted brain hours on worldly things that would not make one bit of difference on the final out come of things. I sometimes wonder if I am the only one in this world whose brain works this way. Trials and tribulations, most of which I created myself. Sometimes I think I am being tested, when in actuality its just me stressing myself out. Their is not a doubt in my mind that Devine intervention occures. And it not only comes in the physical scope of things, but also in the mental scope as well. So, if I cannot blame Satan for all the bad things that happen in this world and in my life, that leaves only one--and I guess you know who that is. When things are not exactly right in my life, I know my motor needs tweeked just a little. When I finally quit squirming and just concentrate on those things that are right in front of me to do (and do them)my life seems to get back on track. The water then begins to smooth out, the clouds go away, and once again I am basking in the warm sunshine. Thank you Father.

I have to believe that our Father in Heaven has a special place for those who have given their all for their countries. Not just American soldiers, but the soldiers of the world who died in an effort to make this world a better place for all of us. On this Memorial Day I realize more than those previous, what a privilege it is to live in this great country. Made possible by the many, and certainly by our War Dead. To them I am most grateful, to their "loved ones" whose members will leave a terrible void in their lives and their families lives, I am deeply sorry forever for your terrible loss. And I pray this day that those who gave their all for their countries have a special place in that big celebration in the sky. Thank you precious Father.

that would be the stranger you just passed in the night. Those that have left tracks on our hearts sometimes are not traceble for ever either. Have you ever wished you could go back in time and erase some of or all of the tracks you have left behind? I'm sure that most of us would sweep away a few of those traces. But you know, its all of those tracks that make up who we are today. Without bad their can be no good. Without sadness--no joy. Without hate no love. Hmmmm what was it I just said about hate and love? Do opposites attract? Sometimes but not always. Does one melt and the other freeze? Are they opposites? One would have to think so. But in the land of forever does any of this make one ounce of difference? Maybe, maybe not! So then, how are we to find our way without divine guidance? Personally I don't think it can be done. One might retrace his or her own tracks, but just as soon as you turned to go the other way again once again you would be lost. "For I am the light and the way." "Lean not unto thine own understanding of things."----and the best of all--"my sheep know my voice and they shall follow." You see, once you are hooked up with the Divine One you are just hooked up!

I probably will step on some toes with this one, but thats ok. We all see things through different filters. Each one of us is headed for the same place--eternity. Because we all see things through different filters, we therefore are not all going to travel the same pathways to get there. And since our Lord is the "Father of all knowledge" those things that I know and understand are because he has given me the understanding. There are many things about my Father that I just don't understand, but if it were his wishes I would be blessed with the understanding. I believe that discrimination in any form towards any individual is a gross violation of our Father's wishes. If there is a knock at my door and there is a person or persons there hungry, it is not my place to ask (before I invite them in to my table)what church they attend, what color they are, what part of the world they are from, or what their sexual orientation is. I know this, if it were not for his grace, I would be on the other side of the door. Thank you Father for your wonderful love, for your many blessings, for your grace and your mercy. Amen
